Blogging Like Gumbo

Blogging Like Gumbo.

It begins…

I find myself thinking today that a good blog is actually quite a bit like a good New Orleans seafood gumbo.   It requires a number of different skills (ingredients) as well as considerable knowledge in combining these ingredients into a coherent whole.    Gumbo is definitely not a recipe for beginners.   It also most certainly is not something quick and easy that one can just whip together.   There is a lot of prep work–  cleaning and de-veining the shrimp,  chopping up the okra and all of the other vegetables.

Telstra signs up for NBN fibre-optic superhighway

February 27, 2012

TELSTRA will start selling broadband and telephone retail services on the government’s new fibre-optic network after signing a deal with federal government-backed NBN Co over the weekend.

The agreement comes as Telstra waits for the competition watchdog to approve plans to internally separate fixed-line retail and wholesale operations. Once approved, Telstra and NBN Co can finalise a deal which the telco values at $11 billion. A decision is expected as early as this week.
